A few years ago, a friend of mine called and asked if she could come over to talk. I remember this day well because it was the day I received my bird chair from Knoll. The bird chair is a modern classic designed by Harry Bertoia. When you order the chair, you must wait 16 WEEKS for delivery. You can imagine my excitement when it finally came.

My friend tearfully arrived. She had just broken up with her boyfriend. I got her something to drink and asked her to to sit in my brand new bird chair. While talking, she looked at me with reddened eyes and asked, "Do you think I will EVER find somebody?" A few things to know about my friend:

1) She has long blond hair.
2) She is a model. Her specialty is swimsuits.
3) She was on the cover of Maxim magazine.
4) She loves sports.
5) She is funny.

If you are a swimsuit model who loves sports and has a sense of humor, what are your chances for finding true love?. I figure the odds are REALLY BAD. Yangblog did the only thing you can do in this situation. I lied. I told her there is someone special for everybody. This was exactly what she needed to hear. A few years later, she DID find the right guy and they got married. They now live in Florida and have a daughter.

I am sure you know the moral of this story. Is it that you should never give up on your dreams? No. If you need that kind of advice, you should watch Oprah. The lesson to be learned is this:

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE YOU EVER TO LET SOMEONE WITH LONG BLOND HAIR SIT IN YOUR BIRD CHAIR!!!!!! Her hair got tangled in the fabric of the chair. It is still in my chair today.
